The Christchurch Circus Trust was established in 1998, initially named The Contemporary Circus Trust and linked to the ‘Circo-Arts’ program at Christchurch Polytechnic. Now located at the Roy Stokes Hall in New Brighton, we offer circus classes for children and adults, provide training spaces for circus professionals, and produce captivating shows.
With over 26 years of reliable service, we have engaged over 30,000 participants through our programs. Our innovative approach to education utilises circus arts as a means of personal and social development, fostering essential skills like creativity, collaboration, and resourcefulness. We are committed to providing opportunities for young performers to grow and excel in an inclusive environment that welcomes all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Our overarching aim is to foster confidence and aspiration through the joy of circus participation.
