Carlene has over 20 years’ experience in Aotearoa’s circus community, from performing. teaching and directing, to leading youth companies and co-developing sector resources like the Guide to Health and Safety within Aotearoa New Zealand’s Circus Practice. Alongside her practical expertise, she has an extensive background in research, including a PhD in Dance Studies and a Master of Science in Health Psychology.

She is passionate about creating inclusive pathways for rangatahi to thrive in circus, supported by creativity and community.
